One can be "both" at "different" times.

A quarterback leads a team to the Super Bowl.
Later becomes the manager of a team.

No, I am disagreed with the statment. Leader is also a manager, who is either managing the state/nation or his party.
So, I feels that a leader could be a good manager.

Leader will take you all the way from where you are to the success and caring, Manager only a post at one of the level, does he/she to care about what you do and understand how you feel from the job and show respective and caring for the down line the staff? Will they?
