It is a new medium that most artists use incorrectly: to re-create older forms of art...such as photo images, collages, montages and paintings. The true explorer of digital art needs to bypass these techniques and really use digital to create works that are for that medium. Understand that paint is not applied like pencil, and watercolor is not applied like oil. You don't make a silkscreen print from acylics, and you don't create photos using pencil. You can, of course, come very close to fooling viewers one way or another but to really apply the medium, in this case digital, you need to work the medium in accordance to its properties. Haven't seen that yet. and not seven sure how that may appear. Maybe on a monitor but definitely on a disk..

More art is created using templates and not started from scratch. For instance, a man program is loaded, then the head may be changed, or the height or width of him, then clothing can be added, etc,etc...Also, someone who may not be able to use a paintbrush or carvers tools or even a pencil will still probably be able to make a name for themselves in the art world (not to mention a whole lot of money)these days. But is it really art or just a commodity?
