Breathing rate increases as more oxygen is required and the air pressure at higher level is less or less of oxygen.

Breathing rate will increase as exercising will require more oxygen than usual. Moreover, since the availability of oxygen is little up a mountain, it will make the matter worse.

breathing rate increases because of increased oxygen demand by the muscles, as well as a decrease in the Fi02. basically, as altitude increases, the fraction of oxygen present in the atmosphere decreases. the decrease in oxygen supply is compensated by increasing the rate of intake.

in the high level the pressure reduce so your rate goes up to find enough oxygen
