They are just simple verbs: run; jump; throw. Complex would be: run very fast; jump extremely high; throw very hard.

The words 'very' and 'fast' modify the simple verb RUN. and so on...

First things first- English grammar is evil and confusing.

There is an example of a compound predicate in that sentence. I could just as easily said it in two sentences.
"English grammar is evil. English grammar is confusing."

To form a compound predicate, you need to take two predicates and combine them, using words such as "and." If you have more than two predicates, you need to use a comma or series of commas to link them all together.

BTW, English grammar really is evil. My teacher threatens us with it if we don't shut up. It works every time.
