Its gets a little chilly around that time. But that would probably be the best time to go. Disney is ok, if you've got little kids. But It's not as "magical" as they say...Maybe that's because I went during the summer. everything was so expensive.
If you go to MGM studios make sure you ride the tower of terror. its awesome.

I just got back at midnight last night after one week there. It is awesome. Any time of year it is great to be there. (except maybe July and August because it can be extremely hot & humid)
You well have a great time at Disney World. Be warned, though, that it can be easy to get carried away with spending! If you are looking to save some cash on food there are several options. If you like to try the pricier restaurants or do a character meal, you could use the Disney Dining Plan. This is available to those staying at Disney Resorts. For about $37.oo you can get one quick service meal, one table service meal and one snack for each night of your stay. Each meal consists of an appetizer, entree, dessert, and a non-alcoholic drink. A quick service meal, such as cheeseburger & fries, a large Coke, and a dessert can cost $10-15. A table service meal at say, Le Cellier at the Canada Pavillion in Epcot can cost $54.00 per person. So you can see where you can get great value if you choose your restaurants wisely.
Another way to save on food costs is to share meals or purchase kids meals (smaller portion/smaller price)
Advice on touring the parks: take your time. Don't try to rush through and see everything. Enjoy whatever you see. It is no fun trying to run through the parks. You can get a map at the entrance to each park. Take a minute to review it and set a bit of a plan. (but be flexible) You might come across a show or demonstration that isn't listed on the map. If you are interested, stop and enjoy!! Take advantage of Fast-Pass. Many of the popular rides has this feature. You enter your admission ticket into a machine that then prints out a ticket telling you what time to return. It is usually an hour span that you have to return, so it isn't like a doctor's appointment where you have to be there at a certain minute. you may get "Return time: between 1:15pm and 2:15pm. I don't know what the crowds will be like at that time of year, but we didn't use FastPass at all this past week because none of the Stand By times was more than 15 minutes!
Have a great time! If you have any other questions, you can email me at tweetymayyy62@yahoo.com and if I can help you answer them I will. (or I can help you find a phone number or website to help)
January, the weather is usually comfortably warm. You might experience a few chilly nights. Occasionally the overnight temp gets down in the 30's & 40's, but not that much.

Although the weather may be a little on the cool side, January is a great time to go to avoid high crowds. Some outdoor events like Mickey's Backyard BBQ dinner show might not operate because they are seasonal, but everything else should be open, weather permitting.
Just be sure to check www.weather.com a week before you go so you'll know how to pack.

AS far as the heat goes, January is a good time to go. Prices are higher at that time. Is that the rainy season there? Do not stay in the sun too long or you will end up being a lobster.
