I have removed chewing gum from my daughters school blazer using vodka on some cotton wool - I know it sounds strange but it worked a treat it just broke the chewing down and it rolled off in little bits. Because it's clear coloured you can use it on any colour fabric - to be on the safe side you could test for colour fastness on an hidden area. I had no problems.

rubbing ice on it so it will become brittle. Be patience and remove the hard pieces and continue until all the gum has been removed. Additionally, peanut butter works however depending on the material may leave a stain or may need to be soaked with laundry soap on site after gum has been removed to removed the oil from the peanut butter. Works great to remove gum from hair also.

Put the plastic bag on the chewing gum and cover it with ice. Gum will harden and than can easily be scrubbed off.

Put the item in a plastic bag and into the freezer. This will harden the chewing gum and it will crack. You can then peel it off easily.

IF THEY ARE YOUR PANTS THE BEST WAY IS TO GET SOME ICE AND PLACE IT ON THE GUM,LET IT GET AS HARD AS IT CAN AND THEN PULL IT.
If they are someone elses pants........keep chewing the gum until they tell you to stop.

attempt freezing the region with ice. lots of the time, the gum will then peel off. If no longer, i have used a product talked about as "Spray & Wash" that I practice to the gum web site and enable it sit for awhile before washing.
