Frist of all u need to have an Information about Both the device's

VDU=Visual Display Unit uses and CRT Cathode Ray Tube to Scatter the particles to create images with Varing Frequency
or u can say Refresh Rate.

But where as an LCD=Liquid Crystal Display on the other hand is a diffrent procedure it uses an Normal Display Screen(Like Cell Phones)
But wht It uses is an Back Light to illuminate the screen for visibility, So no amount of radiation is emmited from the LCD.
and also may seem brighter than CRT

wht u ddint mention is dat is it an Active LCD or Passive LCD
but either of them dont cause eye problems.

wht u can do is By adjusting The refresh Rate of the Monitor
go to desktop->right Click->properties->settings->
advanced->monitor
here we can adjust the refresh Rate
*its the rate at which the monitor refreshes the screen.

But remember adjusting the refresh rate is not advised as it can damage the hardware(monitor).

I've recently switched from a VDU to an LCD, and have not noticed any difference with my eyes, and I spend about 8 hours a day on the monitor. If your eyes are weepy or sticky at all, it could be conjunctivitis, so nip to your pharmacy - they will be able to tell if it is or not. If it isn't, there are eye drops available to itchy, sore or dry eyes. Hope this helps!

You must remember that everyones eyes are different. First off you if you got a larger/smaller mi=oniter this could do it due to the stress to your eyes. Also the same would happen if the resolution was changed. Id suggest changing the resolution by right clicking on the desktop and going to properties. There go to the top tab that says settings and on that screen change the resolution higher/lower untill your eyes ajust. Hope that helps, trinityclassof2010

LCD's don't give off radiation while the old CRT's did - maybe the radiation was keeping the bugs in your eyes under conrol now you have switched they breeding out of control !

The fllicker rate on LCD's (TFT's etc) is slower and the resolution higher. In a straight swap you should be further away from your LCD than you were with your CRT

Other way round with me. I just bought a new LCD tv and I noticed it is much easier on my eyes. Older Cathode Ray Tube tvs give me headaches after a while. I can't explain why.
