CopperT, or the lady must go and purge herself of the semen right after the ejaculation has happened so that the chances of the sperm penetrating is low.
However these are not 100% error free.

take responsibility and use condoms-this is regarded as "safer sex" though not 100%safe by any means. One can still get diseases by sexual contact but les of a chance with condom use
females can use diaphragms,IUD's and pills-all relatively safe when prescribed by a doctor but it will not protect her/or you from sexually transmitted diseases. Go to a local planned parenthood clinic if in US or other govt family plannig clinicif outside US and get the facts.
