x=total no. of runs for the 12 innings
x/12= average of the 12 innings
(x+96)/13= average of the 13 innings
x/12+5=(x+96)/13
(x+60)/12=(x+96)/13
13x+780=12x+1152
x=372
(x+96)/13=(372+96)/13
(x+96)/13=468/13
(x+96)/13=36
Answer: average of runs after 13 innings=36

Let his initial avrage (before the 13th) be x
Hence, (12x +96)/13 = x + 5
or, 12x + 96 = (x+5)13 = 13x + 65
or 13x-12x = 96-65
or x = 31
Hence, the average after the 13th inning,
= x + 5
= 31 + 5
= 36
Ans - 36

Call the total runs in the first 12 innings x.
The average of the first twelve innings is x/12
The average of the first thriteen innings is (x+96)/13
You have x/12+5 = (x+96)/13
Now you solve this equation!

i am a damn idiot when it comes to mathematics. But still i tried. i think its 36.
Assume his total score after 12 innings is "x".
x+96/13=x/12+5
x+96/13=x+60/12
12x+1152=13x+780
x=372
So his total score after 12 innings is 372. So after 13 innings
372+96=468
So after 13 innings his average
468/13=36
Hope its right.

Not possible
Use algebra
Let average for 12 innings be a
12a + 13(5) = 12a + 96
65 = 96
but 65 does not equal to 96
Therefore no answer
