read a good history book. if reading doesn't thrill you watch historically based movies like schindler's list, the anne frank story, truce, etc. they tend to be pretty acurate. possibly even watch old tv shows like i love lucy, mary tyler moore or leave it to beaver...just like today's tv they depict what is happening in that time. or sit and talk to your parents or grandparents...volunteer at an old folks home or hospital. i volunteer at the VA hospital here and i hear alot of old war stories, or what life was like before or after they went off to war. my grandma is a chatter box and has always liked telling stories, but i've liked listening to them too. watch the history channel. there are plenty of ways to learn about history.....but don't forget to watch the news and be aware of the history being made around you everyday!

Live it. Turn off the TV and go out and learn how it was but trying to live by the old ways. When I was in school we had several days a year set aside to learn how it was to live in the past. We learned how to build shelters and houses without modern tools. How to find and prepare food, how to store food, how to make clothes and so on. That's things I have no use for in my everyday life but things I'm happy to have tried.

A study of the present "times" is as good as any other "time" to learn what we humans were like "way back then". Just with bigger and better weapons and such. Anyway, it has always been, and still is, about survival. Maybe that's why the Indians lost out, you think?
