You can not put e-85 in something that is not made for it. The whole system has to be flex fuel capable. the ethanol will harn the fuel system.
Using e85 is pointless, the cost is the same or more than gasoline. It is less efficient. It produces less BTUs per liter than gasoline, so less power. The cost to make E85 uses up 50% more fossil fuel than refining it.
Don't get into the hype about alternative fuels, all hydrogen, ethanol, electricity are refined through some fossil fuel method. As of now, there is no technology or fuel source is going to replace fossil fuel

It is not a matter of "having e85 in the gas"
It is gas or it is e 85... they are two different things.
e-85 is a blend of 15% gasoline and 85% ethanol
There are still very few places to buy e-85 today, therefore most of the stations around you don't have it... What they probably have is "reformulated fuel" This is 85-95% gasoline and 5-15% ethanol. The reformulated fuel is usually found in gas stations in highly populated areas as an additional step to aid with emissions.
I would definitely attempt to find fuel that has no ethanol in it. (for use in a supped up engine)

Yeah, I'd expect it to run rough, if it runs at all. You would need to put a carb on it jetted specifically for E85... and if you did that, you couldn't fill it up with regular gas. Carbs can't handle a wide variety of different fuels.
It'll probably run all right on E10, although you may have to fix the carb a bit more often. There is an article in this month's issue of Metric Road Bike on some of the effects ethanol can have on carbs.

purely countless the greater recent automobiles made considering the fact that 2006 are E-80 5 able, you will desire to have your automobile switched over to run E-80 5, additionally that isn't the respond to the gas subject as that is approximately 15 to twenty cents greater low fee consistent with gallon yet what they don't inform you is you get 20% much less gas mileage with E-80 5.

E-85 burns hotter than regular fuel, you might want to talk to HD before you run it

Screw them all.
My 83 Sporty runs on anything.
It would probably start with piss and vinegar, but I am not willing to do that much experimenting.
One day I am going to figure out how to make it run on captured fart gas.
