Disadvantages
1) CO2, CO, H2CO3 are ait pollutants
2) Polythene is an ait pollutant
3) in villages, coal is nothing but a nuisance which causes fire
4) its toxic

Advantages: It is the basis for life, main componet of oil.

Disadvantages: CO2 is a biproduct of cellular respiration and if not expelled, it would cause an acid/base imbalance, killing you.

On the other hand, these are Carbon based compounds, not Carbon. Diamonds, coal, and other elemental C, if for see none either way except diamons are worth a lot (advantage) and would hurt to crap out (disadvantage).

Exhaled carbon is evidence of successful use of oxygen, which keeps us alive. Inhaled carbon, in areas sealed off to oxygen, is poisionous and will kill a person--a major disadvantage if ever I saw one.
