glass is easier to take care of but shows fingerprints and dust well. Wood looks better but make sure it is sealed because moisture will damage it.

Glass top is the best. Easy maintenance.
Wood may get stained or polish may peel off due to over heated food items.
Make sure that the glass is fixed properly to the table legs.

glas top is great if you have a small space. it will give the apperaence of more volume to your room. how ever it won't be easy to keep clean and glass needs to be sparkiling clean to look relly nice, wood on the other hand is also good and i would go very light wood if your space is small. but you can decide because i don't know what colors you have in your kitchen. i would put it the same color as your chairs or the colors of your walls but a shade lighter or darker to add some contrast. good luck.

I used to have a glass top table, it was a real bugger to keep clean. Timber is much better option.

No man, with a glass top you'll be polishing and worrying about finger prints every minute of your waking life.
Go for wood.

Wood is always better. Easier to care for and is beautiful...
Glass breaks, shows prints, chips, you have to clean the top and underneath and you have to do it often..and there is always smudges.

wood is definately easier to keep clean and you don't run the risk of breaking it when you drop something heavy on it, but glass looks nicer. but think about this, do you really want to see your guests laps during a dinner party?
