You can drink coffee in moderation. One cup or one mocha/latte a day isn't going to harm you or your baby. Just don't drink an entire pot of coffee, or a six pack of soda a day and you'll be fine. Caffeine isn't recommended if you have a bleeding disorder, high blood pressure, or you're close to delivery. For instance, I started spotting the other day (I'm only at 25wks), I'm now on bed rest, can't have sex, can't have caffeine, and I have to drink a butt load of water a day. But if none of that has happened to you, enjoy your morning coffee, and stick with water the rest of the day. Good luck!

u can still have caffeine but less than 200mg a day. coffee ranges but drip coffee (what ur home machine makes) has around 100mg. so u can have (2) 8oz. cups a day but space them out a few hours if u can. cola has 65mg and i have that once in a while. u should ask ur doctor but the only thing it is doing to the baby is raising the heart rate which isn't bad in moderation. stay away from the starbucks and gas station coffee because they have A LOT more caffeine and that could hurt the baby

If you are drinking it because you really like the flavor of coffee then you may as well stick to decaf, but if you are mainly drinking it for the caffine, then you probalby want to tone it down and have no more than a cup or 2 a day. The same goes for tea or soda.

You should try and avoid caffeine all together. They say that 1 cup a day is probably safe though. I work with a girl who is 16 weeks pregnant, and she just started having contractions yesterday and had to be sent to the ER. She drinks tons of cokes throughout the day...whether there is a connection between the caffeine from that and her early contractions, who knows....but I wouldn't take the chance!!

when i was pregnant my doctor said i could have one cup a day. since i dont like coffee i had one can of soda a day. if you really like coffee and want to drink more i would recommend decaff. high blood pressure can already be a concern for someone that is pregnant and i certainly wouldnt want to add to it.
congrats on your upcoming arrival
may god bless you with a healthy baby!!!!!

go ahead and drant your coffee it wont affect the baby at all. just dont drank loads of it at a time . it is ok to have two maybe three cups a day . i would drink no more than that without asking a physician first.

Drink decaf is you want the taste. It is best to avoid all caffeine as much as possible. Always ask your doctor too. If you need something to wake you up in the morning a banana has potassium and always helped me.

I drank coffee throughout both of my pregnancies, had two beautiful normal children.
if you believed everything you hear about what not to have, only water (the bottled) type would be allowed.
go and enjoy a nice cup of coffee and stop fretting......
