insulation/warmth, to produce hormones eg. testosterone, its an energy storage...in case of starvation, it insulates our nerves and needed for impulse conduction....and most significantly its an important component of our cell membrane...without it....we cant survive!

How fat is stored
The sole purpose of a fat cell is to store small droplets of fat molecules. These fat molecules are formed as the concentrations of fatty acids in the blood rises, such as after a big meal. An increase in concentrations within the blood triggers lipase enzymes located in fat tissue, to grab the fatty acids and convert them into a fat molecule (triacylglycerols) for storage.
In fact as we gain weight and become fatter the fat cells do not multiply, rather they just store more fat molecules thus they expand to become larger. Fat cells in the human can multiply but only if fat storage cells “run out”.
How fat is used
When the body uses stored fat for energy it breaks down the contents of the fat cell via enzymes to release glycerol and fatty acids into the blood. As the circulating fatty acids reach muscle cells that require extra energy they are transported across the membrane and into the muscle cell where the fatty acid enters the mitochondria of the cell. Mitochondria are the powerhouse of a cell; they extract energy from fat and carbohydrates to produce the cell’s usable form of energy - ATP.
Spot reducing of fat storage
It is impossible to select any part of the body where you wish to reduce fat stores. With regular exercise and correct dietary changes you’ll decrease the overall body fat, this will also help reduce fat in the most abundant parts of the body or those problem areas.
Fat also gives us insulation and it goes some way towards protecting our vital organs.
GOOD LUCK

Fat provides insultion to the body.
Fat deposits within the body can be called upon when food intake drops as a source of energy, i.e over winter months.

In Nutrition science, fat is divided into two groups called essential fatty acids and non essential fatty acids. Fat is needed by the body to carry out many functions, like synthesis of many harmones. There are some vitamins like vitamin E, which are only soluble in fat. If I am not wrong its vitamin A, D, E. These are needed for important functions. You may want to double check. I was a Biochemistry student at University of Karachi, Pakistan decades ago. There is only so much I remember

Fat is stored in the body as an energy provider. It is also for insulation....we need a certain amount of fat. Again though there is good fat that we burn in our bodies for energy and theres bad fats that block out arteries...(saturated and unsaturated).
Not really an awful lot that you can say about it other than that ...sorry and good luck

Fat provides long term energy stores, as opposed to carbohydrates, which provide short term energy. If for some odd reason, you become stranded in the wilderness, your body will start using your fat stores to keep you alive in the absence of food.

B is the correct answer. Fat is necessary in the body, however it is the LAST thing the body uses for energy, as in when you're starving to death and the body starts to digest its own fat to keep you alive a little longer. Hope this helps.

Insulation
Sustenance
It forms the base of all the hormones
It forms part of the Schwann cells that envelop your nerve cells
Important for the storage of fat-soluble vitamins and minerals
Your whole nervous sytem is basically a fatty substance.
Good luck with the leaflet :-)
