I think you have it about right. And what's sad about the hard-core conservatives, is that they weren't always that way. They used to believe that government should have no control over people choices, their lives. Pretty shocking, huh? Yes, liberals do have a tendency towards helping the poor. I haven't the slightest problem with that, especially if they truly need it. I just don't think that the tax-payers should have to shoulder that heavy load-all by ourselves. But alas.......Seems like the back-breaking working class must shoulder the load for everyone. The under-privileged and over-privileged alike.
I just had to ask-what's wrong with hippie ideals, Mo? Hey, at least in the 60's, people in their 20's were active and interested in the issues and took a stand. I respect that.

The main difference between Democrats & Republicans is the spelling of their party names, and the size & shape of their mascots. It is true that Dem's do have a slightly higher regard for the poor and environmental causes, but the Rep's are more pragmatic & better strategists. If I seem to be damning them with faint praise, then I have accomplished my aim.
Wouldn't it be a real kick in the pants if we all got together & voted for any parties EXCEPT these two? Think they might get the message? Probably not. Nice dream, though.
