Music -- U2, the Pogues, the Specials, English Beat, Depeche Mode, Beatles. OK, I agree.
Movie -- il postino, mr. bean, chocolat, Henry VIII -- I don't think so.

american movies and bands are a usually bigger, showier and a lot more shallow. a good reflection of the culture.
