I've just seen some complaints about losing points here.
So I mean, I just ask and answer. So am I missing something?
I don't really care about these points, but if someone can win a PRIZE or money or something, then maybe I WILL care.
If not, its just points.

No They dont win no money. They just get to the next level after so many points and they get to rate answers and questions and ask more questions as well as answer more.
Right now it looks like if you get like 3 best answers they will give you either a sticker, a screen saver picture, or a key chain. Maybe they are obsessed with those things.
To me I just answer questions too I'm not in it for the points.

Points is as points does. Get a box of chocolate. Hey, I did not get a key chain and I have.... um... 583 best answers (and they are well researched)!
I answer questions on topics that I know something about and that interest me. I read answers in several categories and rate them. I have to sit at a computer all day so it gives me something to do in a second window.
If money or prizes are being given let me know....

Somehow the points work as a reward system. Like saying "good dog" but giving no biscuit. Taking points away = "BAD DOG". It's negative reinforcement magnified somehow by the impersonal nature of communications thru computer.
