i read a little story about a penny...this very rich man, took some friends out on the town, and spent money like crazy, very generous and extravagant, handing out 20's & 50's for tips as though they were $1's--and then as they were going into a restaurant, the rich man sees a penny and bends down to pick it up, the friends were very surprised, and asked "what could a little penny mean to you?" The man smiled and said that each penny says "IN GOD WE TRUST" and so he kept it to remind him to thank the one, who had given him all his riches and to be humble...

I don't know if they're lucky.... I know that I've heard that it is supposed to be good luck to pick up a penny that has a certain side showing (I don't remember which).

But, I pick the penny up, no matter which side is up.
