My girlfriend just went on the Nuvaring a day ago. I have been searching the internet and the small paper that came with it and yet it doesnt say after how long that she's had it that it will be its most effective. Like how bithcontrol pills say wait 2 weeks....this says nothing. Any help with proof would be great. Thank you

You have to wait 7 days before it's safe to use it as a primary means of birth control. Before 7 days, use a backup method such as a condom, spermicide gel or foam, etc.

I use Nuva Ring. But just to be safe I used a back up method (condom) for a week.If you are
worried I would suggest using a back up method for a month just to be safe. And that way there will be no worries.Other back up methods are spermicidal foam or a sponge.
Good luck and be careful for at least a month.
