A woman where I work is 6'1" tall. She said she is too tall, I don't think she is.
She says clothes and shoes that fit are difficult to find and wishes she was shorter.
At what height do you think a woman becomes too tall, and why?

Im 5' 11" so know where your friend is coming from, all the lovely shoes have high heels which is a no no for us, trousers and jeans are hard to find and also tops with long enough sleeves.

Its all relative. I watched a program on giantism the other night which was about people 5ft 11 an over. I do not consider 5ft 11 a giant but someone who is 4ft 8 might do.

The world was made for people between 5ft 5 and 5ft 10 on average, this means that chairs are either too high or too low. Doorways can be difficult. there are not as many shops that cater for shorter or taller people and aeroplanes do not have much legroom for someone who is 5ft 6 let alone any other height.

My cottage has really low ceilings so anyone over 6ft bangs their heads and constantly leaning down low can give people back aches so as you can see, my opinion is, that many heights can be seen as uncatered for, therefore making the person feel like their height is too extreme.

Most clothes are aimed at women who are 5ft 9 as the length of clothes can be a problem for all heights. I do sympathise with her, she is right, she would come across more problems than most shorter ladies, but I also bet most shorter ladies would love to be a bit taller, so its a case of wanting what you cant have.

At least she gets to see everything, that others cant and can reach things others cant and I bet she can eat loads more than someone who is 5ft 6. So she has a lot of plus points too.

I am 5' 8" tall and the entire time I was growing up my family and other relatives would make remarks like " my she is getting so tall , you should put a brick on her head" or " Look how tall she is, is anyone else in her school that tall?" Geezzz by the time I was 17 I believed that I was some sort of 'Circus Freak' and would spend my life working in a 'Side Show' with some cigar smoking 'Barker' outside the tent yelling " Come inside See Her here ...The Tallest Woman in the World"

So you see, that is how we come to believe these ridiculous things about ourselves.

There is no set height... most of the Super Models are over 6 ft. tall. Where do you think they get those long torsos and long legs. ???

Anyone above or below average height for their gender tends to feel uncomfortable. I can understand what this lady is saying because clothing manufacturers go by average height therefore I can see why she has problems and it must really get her down. It does me too although I the opposite end of the scale (shortie) I end up paying for 10 yards of fabric that I have to chop off my clothes (10 yards maybe being a bit of an exaggeration !!!!). What you could do is find her a web site or catalogue that sells really nice fashion clothes & shoes for the taller person, I know there out there as have seen them. Then she will know your a true friend. And finally she is only too tall to stupid narrow minded manufacturers that ignore the real world.

A woman like anybody including men is never too tall or too small
If this woman can even accept her own height determined by her
genetic make-up she will spend her life looking at insignificant things like sizes of shoes and clothes, tell her about internet shopping. I like a woman to be just a bit shorter than me 5ft 9`in

I don't think that a person or in her case a woman can become too tall. I jsut think that she is uncomfertable that maybe the men around her are shorter than her. She is the perfect height for a model or a volleyball player.

she probably is right about the pants being to short and having a hard time find shoes. my oldest daughter who is an adult is 5 feet tall, every pant is too long and she only wears a size 5 shoe. she has to buy most of her shoes in the kids department. i think 5'7 would be the perfect height. pants are too long and you can still find shoes to fit.

i'm 5'6" and that i have dated adult males from 5'7" to six'2" over the years. the common height for adult males interior the U. S. (statistically) is 5'10". So a 6' tall guy is truly taller than common. i'm chatting with a guy now who's 6'4"...if we bypass out, he will finally end up being my tallest date accordingly far.

I would say a woman is too tall when she feels she's too tall. Otherwise, one should be comfortable with their height.

Buying pants/jeans that are long enough and long sleeve shirts that are long enough are a problem. I'll agree with her there. I'm right at 6 feet and it is hard to find jeans that are long enough for me. My dad is 6'3" but my legs are longer than his. Never had a problem with the shoes though.
