A Kentucky National Guardsman has died in Iraq from non combat-related injuries, according to a press release Thursday.

Sergeant 1st Class Charles Jason Jones, 29, died Wednesday in Baghdad. Jones was assigned as a medic to the 149th Brigade Combat Team Headquarters. The unit, comprised of 50 soldiers, deployed to Iraq earlier this year and has teams stationed throughout Iraq.

Yes ,I agree that we can never be grateful enough. I hate politicians! I love and support our troops. I pray for them on a daily baisis. They are the only reason we can burn flags and kill doctors that preform abortions. We maybe stupid but we can be, because of our troops. We would never get away with what we do in any other country!!

We owe our freedom to soldiers. It sounds strange to some people who haven't thought it through, but it's true. Without US military, Hitler would have won. Without the Civil War there would still be slavery. Some things have to be won by blood. We can wish all we want for another way, but some things are worth dying for. How can you possibly thank someone who has made that sacrifice? We owe Jason's family, friends and community.

I very much agree. While one does not have to agree with the current situation one should never forget that there are heroes out there doing a nasty job as best they can. The ones that fall should forever be remembered.

Do you suppose you might consider shedding a tear for the people killed by American troops throughout the world as well. last week another Canadian soldier was killed in Afghanistan by American friendly fire.
