Yngwie is unique, some have tried to imitate his neoclassical metal or better yet neo baroque metal style unfortunately for them, Yngwie has an awesome technique and that cant be imitated, that you either develop practicing 18 hours a day since age 3 and still wont sound like Yngwie or you are borned a natural ...well I haven't seen any naturals lately.. some very good guitarists yes, but Yngwie is the king of neoclassical metal guitar expression

I have tried when I'm alone or with headphones on lol who am I trying to kid?

There are quite a few guitairists out there that can be mentioned in the same breath as Yngwie... like Chris Impelliteri, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai... when it comes to shredding and speed. But Malmsteen is definitely in another stratosphere when you consider the whole package.

I do think that had he been able to shed some of his infamous ego early in his career and record with a stable band behind him for a prolonged period of time, he might be much more of a household name.

Fire and Ice and Eclipse are my two favorite albums of his after his first, Rising Force.

Actually at one time I had worked up several of Malmsteen's pieces. He's almost untouchable...but not quite. Dude sure can jam though!
