If you read the comic "Hellblazer" then you know Keanu Reeves was NOT a good choice for the lead role. I would have used Denis Leary.

I would have picked the wrong person, because I didn't think Keanu could pull it off, but I was 'way wrong! I know he did not fit the visual profile, but I thought he was great. And my youngest son, who has those comics & is a HUGE fan, even praised Keanu in the role. I would find Denis Leary too one-dimensional, and not nearly self-aware enough to pull it off.
