Don't get so hung up on the spelling people. The question is not concerning me...this is not a self evaluation survey. Focus on the question given as an idea. I already know I am simply smart. I am not a genius. I am only "g3n1ouz" because genius, genious, geniuz, geniouz, g3nious, g3n1uz..and other combinations were alreadyl taken by other users of Y! So much marrow around it's astounding.
Call it habit then, that the extra "o", which I typed quite "fast" I may add, lol.
Where I SHOULD have typed that extra "o" instead though, should have been next to my nick and make it g3n1ouz_o as a friend of mine said, but then again, I doubt if any one of you would understand.

There is a manifold range of definitions for the term "genius" out there - some are mythological based, some are philosophical based, some are scientifically deduced, some are psychologically suggested, and still many are I.Q. tested. But no matter how you define it, “genius” is a human trait that truly belongs to the others (i.e. humanity as a whole) and not the individual him/herself who happens to possess the distinguished mental abilities. What transpires in a person's mind will remain forever private, and hence lost to humanity, if not effectively communicated with others in one form or another (e.g. scientific publications, artistic expressions, literary works, etc.). In other words, and as Newton also suggested, you cannot be a genius in your own head. .... Having said that, I suppose, the real question is: Are all geniuses also "smart"? Ironically enough, the answer is a resounding NO! A true genius - a "smart" genius if you will - is one who above and beyond his/her distinguished mental abilities also possesses sufficient Emotional Intelligence to nurture the spiritual needs of his/her being. A smart genius is one who has the greatness of spirit to match his/her intellectual abilities - especially in recognizing the immeasurable value of a true friendship and how to cherish it. So give or take an occasional “O”, a smart genius knows how to treasure, take care of, and reciprocate a friend’s love.

Life is a choice. Choosing from a series of pathways. Do I become a lawyer? Doctor? What will serve me best? I have decided on the one that serves me beyond death, that carries benefits into eternity. My kids, by the way, think I'm a genius.

Sweets~ you are "smart"
One needs not to label as such~
Its ones thinking with ones self out loud to validate the need to be known as bigger and better...You do not need such reward because you are in your heart smart enough to know how much you are a genius.....YOU have come and played long enough and carried yourself well some things take time ~ Maturity is one~ as life will hold those moments of greatness for you...

What makes a genius (a person who learns extremely fast) "smart" (fast learner) is the brain. It is better than that of average people.

All other things being equal (blood flow, blood oxygen levels, brain size and mass etc.), in general, the more synaptic connections per neuron (brain cell) the greater the potential for "smarts".

A faster CPU, and the ability to think rather than just memorising everything they are taught. I think a genius has those characteristics, and more.
