Windows XP:
As people have already mentioned, type "ipconfig" in the command prompt window and hit enter. Your IP address will be displayed under the title "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection".
Mac OS X:
Method 1:
Click on the Apple menu and select "System Preferences" from the drop-down list. Click on the "Network" button and then "Configure". Now, select the "TCP/IP" tab to view your IP address.
Method 2:
Open Terminal (located in Applications → Utilities) and type: ifconfig | grep "inet" and hit enter. Your IP address will be displayed next to "inet". NOTE: the UNIX command is "ifconfig" not "ipconfig".

If you have the network icon (the one with the two monitors blinking) next to the clock on the start toolbar.. Doble click that icon, go to the Support tab and that is the IP address

For your EXTERNAL IP address click on this link:
http://ipchicken.com/
for your internal IP address do the following:
Go to START > Programs > Accessories > Command prompt
Then in the black box type in: IPCONFIG
..it will give you your internal IP address ..something like 192.168.XX.XX

I can't help you on the Mac, but on Windows go to Start, Control Panel, Network Connections, and right click on the network device you are using. go to Status, then click on the "Support" tab
