Did singapore change scince 1 may 2006?

i WAS from singapore..i migrated to New zealand..i sooo miss the FOOD!! wow..roti prata..mee siam..mee rebus...yum..so..those in singapore..don't take it forgranted that u have good food to eat..and those who has not been there..GO NOW!! pack and go!

i left in may 2006..i'm 13..

I understand how you feel. Our family friend also emigrated to New Zealand and felt it so lonely there. He cannot go out at nights to drink kopi because it so cold out there.

Okay, changes are permanent and Singapore will do anything to keep up with progress.

Well, just to update you on the things going on here:

*The National Day Parade held its final celebration in Singapore Stadium. Next year, it will be held in a different venue.

*First time for Singapore to host the IMF meetings which just ended this week. It was held in Suntec and tough security measures such as road blockade were placed.

* Vivo City (the next big thing in shopping centres) will open this October. It is located beside Harbourfront Shopping centre.

* Lee Hsien Yang has stepped down as Singtel CEO.

* As of today, Tan Kin Lian has stepped down as Income CEO.

*Renovated Newton Circus and Tiong Bahru food stalls has finally opened.

Those are some of the major events I can think of at the moment.

I think you left at the wrong time, because the criteria for admission to higher learning institutions (Polytechnics & Universities) have been lowered alots. Why ? 4 universities and 5 Polytechnics with our population going down, thus have to lower the standard, if not become white elephants. Friends also told me that very easy to get a degree or dipolma.
