Yes. I do not think religion falls into the equation. Not everyone is a follower of x, y, or z, religion. And there are certain religions that favor it, such as Wicca, which is recognized as a legitimate religion by the United States and the US armed forces.
Procreation is also not a valid argument, as there are hetero couples that cannot have children and opt to adopt or try surrogacy which is, also, available to same sex couples. I was a surrogate for a same sex couple.
I have yet to run across any valid argument against same sex marriage.

I believe it's none of my business. Personally I don't see the point of marriage at all - same sex or opposite sex. But if 2 people of the same gender love each other and want to go through such an antiquated ritual - who am I to tell them they can't.
I don't know why the government is even involved in such matters.

Maybe not marriage sanctioned by religion, but extending the rights of same sex couples fully that they may enjoy the same rights and protection under the law as married couples

I am not in favor of nor against same sex marriage. But if homosexuals demand this, then it's their right. I just find it unnecessary. I don't get why homosexuals would want to get married anyway.

Yes, life is so short and if somebody has the opportunity to be happy who has the right to tell them they can't. Its not up to me to judge.
And to the first answer, according to some religion, just about everything we humans do is not right. Some religions say it is not right to dance (do you dance?) some say its not right to play cards (have you ever played cards) some claim its not right to cut your hair (You ever cut your hair?) some do not believe it is right to eat pork (you ever had a big slice of ham?) some don't believe in music in church (do you listen to music at church?). If you do anything of these things or hundreds of others I could list, then you are just the same as same sex couples. No sin is greater than another....Think about it !!!!!!

Sure, why not. if two people love eachother, go for it.
screw religion. love is more important in this world than hate-filled messages of intolerance that the "pious" spew.
