Oh tons of Ideas! depends on your budget though, cheapest to most expensive:

A leech - large black trash bag, a plunger head, black clothes and black face makeup.

The chick in Nightmare Before Christmas.
you could get the clothing easily from a second hand shop, draw the stitches on yourself with eyeliner pencil.

A zombie - death face is easy to do with makeup, tear and rub some dirt into some clothes and wander about saying "braaaaaaaaiiiiiiiinnnnnnsssssss"

Getting more expensive -

Flapper - short sleeveless dress withw drop waist, a cloche hat, and stockings rolled down under your knees.

1940s woman - can usually get an outfit from a resale shop that is 1940s, the shoes you can get at a shoe store, since they are in style again. The hair might be the hardest, and you might want it professionally done.

Evil faery - get black wings or purple wings - saw some great ones at Nobbies Party store. Dress in black or red or purple, be mean to people- lol!

there's a few - hope that inspires you.

Mystic Dancer

join a caravan of musical wanderers on October 31st. The key to this costume is the layers: the more the merrier. MATERIALS:
flowery skirts
old scarves
strings of costume jewelry
lipstick
face paint
old purse

Time needed: Under 1 Hour
1. Layer on mismatched flowery skirts, a few old scarves, and strings of costume jewelry. (If you can't find these items in your own closets, head to a thrift store).

2. Add some lipstick, and face paint.

3. Tie another scarf around the dancer's head, hand her a tambourine and an old purse, and candy will be in her future.

I was working a movie theather and for the opening week of one of the Zorro movies this guy and girl came in to see the movie. The guy was dressed up like Zorro but the girl was like a female Zorro (zorroette?) she looked great. Black spiked boots, black leather pants, a red sash around her waist. a white long sleeved shirt open at the neck, a black snug vest, the black eye mask, and the bolero black hat. I don't remember if she had a sword. She didn't have a cape either. They told me they had both put together their own customes.

Why not go as Rose Red? It would be a fairly easy costume. Wear all red, red dress, stockings, shoes, jewelry, with a red rose in your hair. And get some rose scented perfume too. Don't forget red fingernail polish with little stick on roses on each nail. Nobody else will be so dramatic...Have fun.
