Why do they put in the screeching car tire sound effect when the car is spinning on a dirt road?

Good observation! To make the movie more noisy and exciting. How cool is the sound of a car doing a 360 in dirt?

Hey, you are right, I will have to watch out for that. Tires on dirt make a skidding noise.

they don't? then i'd say they do it hoping no one knows that cars don't screech on dirt - cheap sound effect

They use it to make it more dramatic sound. When tyres spin on dirt the noise is not exiciting.

That's funny. My husband said the same thing one night. I never really thought anything about it until he said something about it, then I forgot about it until I saw this question. I don't know though.
