heee hee i think that you've got very good answers above (not counting the first one) but i'll tell you how we do it!
eid is the first day of the month after Ramadan, and we celebrate it by wearing new clothes (i started shopping for new clothes and gifts a few months back) and in this day we fulfill the third pillar of islam which is charity (zakkaht)
in the morning we eat dates (3 or 7, as prophet mohammad did) then we go to the masjed (mosque) and pray then we visit our relatives (most people give mony (eidiah) in this day like a gift (i once go 1000 in one day))
this day is like a gift from god a reward for fasting the month of Ramadan, and it is forbedden to fast in the first day of eid (eid lasts from 3 to 7 days)
we mainly have 2 eids. eid al fitir which is after ramadan, and we have eid al haj, in this month ppl (who can) go to make the pilgramige to Mekkah to fulfill the fifth of the five pillars of islam, and sacrifice sheep or goats or cows etc to god.
hope that this was enough, but if you need more info plz contact me and i'll be more than happy to help!

Eid ul-Fitr (Arabic: عÙد اÙÙطر), often abbreviated as simply Eid, sometimes spelled Eid al-Fitr in the Roman alphabet, is an Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. Fitr means "to break" and therefore symbolizes the breaking of the fasting period and of all evil habits. On the day of the celebration, a typical Muslim family gets up very early and attends special prayers held only for the occasion in big mosques, in large open areas, stadiums or arenas. The prayer is generally short, and is followed by a khutba. The festivities and merriment start after the prayers with visits to the homes of friends and relatives and thanking the Creator for all blessings. Eid is a time to come together as a community and to renew friendship and family ties. This is a time for peace for all Muslims in the world to devote to prayers and mutual well-being. much more @ (below)

Eid ul' Fitr is the Islamic holiday which is right after the month of Ramadan every year. It is to celebrate the breaking of fast. Eid in the Arabic language means holiday and Fitr in the Arabic language means to eat. Therefore, if you put them together in English, you have the Holiday of eating(Eid ul' Fitr).

eid is the day after the last day of Ramadan, on this day you should go to the masjid (before eating) and pray and thank Allah for everything that you have been blessed with. then usually families and friends get together and eat. lots of people sacrifice a goat or a lamb and eat the meat of it and donate part of it. on this day one should also give zakaat, (donations to the poor)
