YOu know, the scales of its body until its tail. What is the amount exactly? I'm just very curious. Or maybe you guys can tell me where to find the answer.

Which Merlion?
There are in fact two Merlions in Singapore, one at Sentosa and one along Singapore River near Victoria Theatre.

For the record, it's 320... for both the 8m high Singapore River merlion and the towering 37m Sentosa merlion, which is a reproduction on a larger scale.

There r several Merlions in S'pore...so I guess they hve different amounts of scales...2 noe the actual result...I guess u hve 2 count them physically. They r located at the following areas:
1) Sentosa...
2) Souvenir Shops...chinatown / little india etc etc...
3) Merlion park - at One Fullerton....(2 merlions there..)

Ok, this is your assignment.
Download a pic of the Merlion and magnify it 10x then count the scales by yourself and you will get the answer.
BTW, my Merlion is NOT covered with scales but with fur.

You can take a messure tape and a calculater to he merlion and messure by yourself.
Or the others 2 ways are go ask the goverment and find your answer in the library.
