After giving birth you will bleed heavily for some time. Normaly it lasts for 6 weeks. It is heavier than a period in the beggining and getting lighter.
Mine lasted 3 months and were not heavy but got heavier later. It depends on the person.
It is called lochia and it is not a menstruation.
If you are only breastfeeding then you will not have a period until you stop breastfeeding. Otherwise you will have a period sometime after your lochia stops.
Be careful you might get pregnant even if you have no period, you are still ovulating.
Your first period(s) after lochia will likely be heavier then normal, dont get scared unless you know you have blood clotting problems.

If you gave birth like last week and you're "bleeding", there's something wrong so go to the emergency right now. If you gave birth more than a month to 2 months ago - yes, you're supposed to get a period because your eggs are still ovulating even during the pregnancy. So since this time they haven't been fertilized yet - the only way out is thru your period. Don't worry about it, it means your system is healthy. The duration should last for 3-5 days depending how strong your period is. More than that, go to your OBgyne.

Once the baby is born a women will bleed for approximately 6 weeks, I bled heavily for about 3 weeks and from that point onwards it got lighter and lighter until it was over. I didnt breastfeed so about a month after that I started my normal monthly period. My sister breastfed her son and only got her period when he stopped feeding at about 9 months old.

Yes, once a month just like always. If however you are referring to post natal bleeding it lasts for 4-6 weeks. It is not a period. It starts off quite heavy for the first week or so and gradually lessens.

after you give birth you will bleed for around 6 weeks after that it depends on when your first period will start but once they do and your on a normal cycle lets say 28 days 5 days then your body should go back to that it may not but it should. nobody can tell you when your first real periods after that will be starting but that is how it will go. after the first back to normal cycle

You most definitely will. They can last for 6 weeks and be heavy. It's just to expel the extras after baby. Things should get back on track thereafter, especially if you opt to take birth control after the birth.

NOt necessarily, I didn't have one for a long time after my first because of nursing but I had it after my second. But watch out sometimes you can get pregnant even if you don't have your period !!!

On average women will bleed for up to six weeks after giving birth but it is not a period.
After that bleeding stops then periods should
start back after a month. But sometimes they will stop for a while. It is best to see you gyn
if they stop.
