It wouldn't hurt to have a hoard of gold and silver coins. Guns and ammo would be good stores of value. Those who say it can't happen are idiots.

If it loses its value... we will be using a lot more of it.. so a Big Mac will cost $100 dollars BUT the government wont let that happen. There are people who watch the market and wont print money with nothing to back it up. So if our government fails and all goes to hell, I think things will go back to trading... goods, services, etc.

Scientists have envisioned a day when everyone can be barcoded in some way. (or "chipped").
Thus, people would have computerised amount of credit, which gets rid of the need to have paper money.
However it is a complex system for sure. I dont know exactly how they have planned it to work

Well, that'd be utter chaos... I suppose that the economy would break down, and we'd go back to trading goods for services and that sort of thing...

I saw a TV program that had shown this pacific island where they used these giant stone wheels as money but to answer your question >use pictures with my face as currency.When society collapses my picture will comfort them in their pain while Im living on my self sufficent farm in the boonies.

ur going to have a national id card with a rfid chip in it in 2008 and im sure a central data base(s) will be installed shortly thereafter... it would be a simple matter to switch over to cashless after that ... well maybe not simple but dooable lol... maybe the new unit will be the "amero"
