Well, I think that some crimes are just so horrible, that it is a just punishment, considering that police officers can't even slap even the most perverted, disgusting criminals anymore without a lawsuit... If there was no death penalty, I guess there'd just be multiple life sentences... That's all I can think of..

The death penalty is a joke. First of all, as an atheist, I laugh at this so called "christian" country that is far more willing to place judgments that are only meant to be placed with their gods, in their own hands,rather than side with humanity. How can any one human stand in judgment of another, it is pure lunacy. There is no deterrent, bad things happen to people and they will continue to happen until humans are no more. We prosecute what we can and be happy with that. There is no such thing as eliminating these things, so deal with it. Live and let live, survival of the fittest, after all else, that is what remains. The judgers will eventually become the judged, just be on the right side of things, the humane side.

I think there are too many people being convicted of crimes they didn't do. You keep finding people who have been in prison for years and years who are suddenly released when new DNA tests prove they really didn't do it. So what will they do for someone who was excecuted? You can't dig them up and tell them they're free. I don't think they've found anyone executed in error yet because they aren't doing the new tests on those cases. I bet there's at least one innocent person in there. And that's enough reason to get rid of the death penalty.

What do I think of the death penalty?
...Hmmm. I think it's fine for those choose that way to go; but personally, I think I'd like to avoid it.
Alternative methods...
Gosh... there aren't any alternative methods to the death penalty that still result in death - except life in prison or accidentally getting killed in a prison gang rape. I guess, "prison gang rape" would be the best choice, (not for myself, of course - I mean for like a real bad guy... like someone much worse than I am... um... most of the time.)

It is needed for certian crimes, howeverwaiting 8-9 years to carry out something which ought to be within 30 days is crule and unusual punishment

It may be cruel and inhuman but necessary as a deterrent! There is no alternative to it apart from what we already have, such as life imprisonment coupled with hard labour!

I'm in favor of the death penalty. My religion cleary states that if you murder, you should be murdered. Case closed!

I believe in eye for an eye!!!! You kill someone, you should be killed in the same way! You rape someone, you should be put in a cell with the biggest, greasiest man in the pen, and let him have at you.
