choice implies freedom while decision implies selection.

Choice is more of a capability.

Decision is more of a result.

In the proper context they are synonyms.

A good decision is a good choice, but all good choices good decisions, the answer is no.

Decisions are normally attached to a single person or group of people.

Choices are like opportunities available to all and not necessarily applicable to some.

Geometrically speaking, you can fit the sum of all decisions within the sum of all choices if you think about it long enough.

Choice is a multitudinous objective abstraction, decision is a temporal reality. For example, one has several choices on a multiple choice test but has a limited amount of time to make a decision amongst the available choices which will be permanently recorded.

Choice is the preferences you want to do, and decision is the mind you initiate before you execute. Choice is quite straightforward because you know what you want so pick one out of the three decision with already mind set. So Decision is to clear up the mind as choice has already have a mind to choose what is needed to be chosen.

It is not a Language section, rather Philosophy, hence:

Choice or Choices are external (hence objective), which are multiple. Decision is internal (hence subjective) as to what ones choice is.

I chose to get up today and decided I better get to work.

I decided to get up today and chose to go to work.

I had to choose a color for my kitchen and decided on teal.

I had to make a decision on a color for my kitchen and my choice was teal.

Once something is decided upon then there are no more choices or once something is chosen then there are no more decisions.

I believe that they are interchangeable depending on the context. My brain hurts thinking about this at this hour. However, I find this very intriguing and look forward to all of the different answers. Interesting how we take so many words for granted. Thanks!

you are kind of "forced" to make a decision, but you are not, to choose. I guess. anyway, if it's philosophy, there is no definition for the difference between these two.

decision - the act or process of determination, as of a question or doubt, by making a judgment or a choice that has been made
choice - an act or instance of selection or the right, power, or opportunity to choose; having options

they are both very very close, if not identical
