Find out where the big lesbian community is in your city and go there with a friend for coffee or lunch and suss the place out.

In our area, I find that most gays and lesbians hand out at coffee shops, new age stores, local book stores, natural food stores and local artist venues/galleries. Visit some of these place, look and listen. You might find some at a Unitarian Church, one of the few mainstream sects quite open to homosexuality. Good luck.

See if there is an MCC (Metropolitan Community Church) in your area. It is considered a gay church, although it is open to everyone. Go online to see what gay groups exist in your area; choruses, youth groups, women's groups, etc. I'm assuming that by stating you are in the closet it means you aren't out to friends and family, not that you're not out to yourself or those you'd be interested in. Check out the local gay bars if you're old enough, and have an interest.

I know it is one of the hardest tings I could of did but you need to be open with your self and others if that how you truly feel. The closet is not the best place to be if you are looking it just makes things harder on you. Good luck...........
