I'm a Yankee fan who can't stand the Mets and their obnoxious, overly optimistic fans. But the way they are playing, do you think any team can stop them in the postseason?

The Mets have played over thier head all year. Partially because of the collapse of the Braves and Astros and the really lackluster play of the Cardinals this year. Part of it has been players coming thru in the clutch. Beltran and Wright at times carried the offense. Delgado normally a great hitter has struggled most of the year. The rest of the team as been pretty medicre offensively but got the hits when they needed them most.

Pitching wise they've not lived up to expectations with Pedro in particuler having a bad year when he was expected to be the ace. Glavine really carried the team SP wise much of the year having one of his best years since his prime. In the post season Pedro is pretty ordinary. Especially in the leauge championship series. Glavine has been pretty miserable in division championships but stepped it up in leauge championships and WS. Traschelle has no post season experience and the high ERA and other indicators mean he has a better W/L record than how he pitched. They will probably go with El Duke for the 4th as he has done very well in the post season. This is actually thier best hope. That he has at least one more great post season. Otherwise they are in trouble. If Glavine and Pedro do not have great post seasons it is doubtfull Traschelle will carry them. Middle relief is so so but Wagner is evil and get's the job done. Wagner however has a horrible post season record. It'll be interesting to see how he handles the post season this year.

The way it looks right now is the Mets will get to face either LA or SD in the first round. Possibly the Cardinals. Again not a good omen. The Mets are cold, the Dodgers and Padres both red hot right now. The Cardinals have a much better offense than the Mets and almost as bad a rotation to present.

I personally am starting to think it'll be the Padres or Dodgers in the series. The injury to Mulder hurts the Cards even though he was having a pretty mediocre year. Carpenter is one of the best pitchers in the game this year. Will be tough fight for Mets against the Cards and the winner has to take on one of the hottest teams in MLB.

So there is a real chance you won't see the Mets in the WS. To be honest I'm surprised they won thier division. If Philidolphia or Atlanta had played up to expectations the Mets wouldn't even be in the playoffs at all. Both are better teams overall. Though no team in the NL this year is really dominent. None in the AL either actually. I'm a fellow Yankees fan and hate the way the team has been stocked with ancient vets. Nearly cost the Yanks the postseason. Time to dump Sheffield and Giambi in my opinion. Time to bring up or trade for a young hurler or two as well. The team is too old to remain competitive.

the opportunities are especially sturdy. you have a much extra effective probability of them 2 communities assembly then the different 2 communities interior the postseason. i'd say its a 50% probability that a subway series will ensue this postseason. I actual have been predicting subway series by way of fact the beginning up of the season, even formerly the Yankees began drawing close. for sure, the Yankees will pull out a victory. Tom Glavine is actual no longer waiting to stand up to a lineup like the Yankees have. pass YANKEES

No offense, but as another Yankee fan, it's fans like you that influence Met fans to be so hateful.

I don't see any National League team beating the NY Mets this year. We'll cross that Subway Series bridge if and when we get to it.
