I live in the UK and have recently been watching Cops on sky tv,and want to know ,Are your police really like that?With guns just for a broken tail light

in the uk they only carry guns in London and big cities,and they are only the minority who do so.

yes it is a true show of what happens out on the streets but you need to know that many a bad person has been caught with just a routine traffic stop and some of these bad people carry guns so the police have to be very careful an though i wish to see no one hurt or dead i would rather the bad guy go than the police that protect us God love them and protect them is my prayer

On cops, you are getting a small take on what these officers go through. Cops are people too!!! There are some good ones, and some corrupt ones. I have Family and friends that are police officers. So I have some understanding on what cops have to deal with. There are some war zones in southern california that you will never see on cops. ( drugs & gang infested). Picture this!! it's night time, you're sent to answer a domestic call, which turns out to be a set-up, as you drive up, you're welcomed with a rain of bullets. (no this is not from a movie) Just remember that these people put their life on the line everyday, and sometimes loose their lives because they pulled over some guy with just a broken tail light, who is armed and dangerous, and is carrying drugs, and has decided he's not going to jail!!!
Remember, one cannot judge an entire group of people, from the actions of single person!!!

You think that's grotesque ? Where I live police carry Falk semi automatic riffles, Uzis, M 16´s and always want money.
anyway is true U.S law enforcers carry their guns on any approach.
I live in Central America . Don´t worry they never bother tourists.

They ALWAYS have guns honey, as do a lot of other people...which explains why they always have guns!! "Cops" is a show about dumb, petty crimes...usually committed by stupid hillbillies and low-lives. Notice how often the guys are skinny, drunk and shirtless?? Rednecks!! Got to love them!! Anyway, the crime in most larger cities is much worse than any of the nonsense you see on Cops.

Keep in mind that they're taking days and days worth of tape and snagging a few minutes out of it. Its the exceptional stuff that makes the best tv.

Our cops are jerks, most of them think they know everything about anything! They have a very high egos. I once went to a class and most of the people wanted to be cops just to beat on men only, to shoot at people, to get revenge and the list goes on....I live in Nevada!
