Maybe she is scared to make that move. She may seem a leader in your eyes but that doesn't mean that shes got the strength to tell her dad what she thinks and stand up for herself..

The thing is, he is a figure of authority and as much as he's been there and left I guess she still feels a sense of respect for him.

She will stand on her own two feet eventually, just be there when she does she will need all the support you as a friend can give her.

Although she a woman of 21 and would likely be living on her own in other countries, if the customs where she lives are so that she remain with her parents (who probably own the dwelling and pay most of the expenses) then she should follow the reasonable wishes of her parents for the sake of family harmony. Two possible solutions to her situation is to go live with loving relatives OR to seek out a husband who can provide her with a nice lifestyle. It's good of you to be a friend that she can confide to.

Well your friend is 21 and you say she is a leader, tell the leader to get her own place and everything will be fine...

Invite her to live with you? Encourage her to save some money to get out on her own? No one should have to endure a miserable existence.

Keep your opinion and thoughts to your self...show and give her empathy...and do not open your mouth and give her advise.....only help her if asks for it. okay.
