I went with a system that had two external pumps - one low pressure one that pulled the fuel into a reservoir, the second a high pressure pump fed off the reservoir. Kind of overkill, but I'm planning on autocrossing the car and don't want fuel slosh to make trouble. It didn't require any mods to the tank, except drilling a hole for a return line.

If I were to do things over again, though, I'd probably just put a sump on the tank and put an internal pump in the sump.

The Internal Fuel Pump works on high pressure. If you are going for a Carb, use an External Fuel Pump or an "Auto pulse" Electric Fuel pump. Either one is designed to work with a Carb.

Best to get a factory tank, because of fit. If you wanted to make something else out of it, you could use an Aluminum Beer Keg.

Most fuel injection systems I have seen use both. An in the tank pump and and external boost pump (classic Bosch) If available I would use a stock tank from the 98 model, fabricating can be tricky to get right. And yes, you will have to install the 98s computer. Have I told you that your crazy yet? your swap will signifigantly reduce the value of your car and be a constant headache.

even in case your vehicle's gasoline injected or carbureted would not impression the engine braking. What concerns is the compression ratio and the size of the engine relative to vehicle weight. Gearing also has some result, yet with a guide transmission you administration what equipment you're in, no longer the dumb field.

i take it computer and all is in your swap. fi. i'm sure there are reasons stock 2 pumps are used in n out of tank. i think there's a sending unit/w pump for that tank you have. there may be a tank that may fit outa the junk yard but i'd check online see if .... or after market maybe put one in your trunk?
