I think the biological urge of visiting restrooms is somehow seen as a bad thing to do in public by girls and they need comfort and support of other girls/women in their subconscious mind.

could be any number of reasons , I don't feel the need myself .
Some feel safer in numbers , some just like to gossip , and others do it because they see someone else do it and they follow like sheep !
