Here are my new PC spec. I did ask a while ago regarding Core 2 Dou, Pentium D and Pentium 4. And here my final spec.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz on Intel Mobo D975XBX
1 Gb RAM Kingston (2 x 512 DRR2 667)
250 Gb SATA HDD Maxtor
512 PCI express 16x ATI Radeon X1600Pro PowerColor
18x Samsung DVD /- RW Dual Layer
Card reader
17" CRT LG Flatron
Logitec Internet keyboard and mouse
Simbadda case 450Watt with 4 fans

Hope this last 3 years. Is this setup good for graphics design and gaming? I spent USD1011 already and that's it. No more upgrade for 3 following years (may be just the RAM in 1 year)

Any idea my next upgrade?

Everything is good but the video card and thats OK because no cards do DirectX 10 yet and it's a waste to spend big money on a card until they release DX10 cards later this year anyway.

You should upgrade the RAM though (1G is definitly not enough for Vista) and DDR2 800 would give a good bump in performance.

Good choice of MB and Processor family though, good upgrade path. Maybe a Core 4? LOL. I like that Motherboard!

You may (will) want to go to a bigger monitor soon though (they're gettin real cheap anyway.)

Don't go 64 bit yet (Lack of driver support) or Vista, like I said RAM and a DirectX 10 card.

Very nice setup. You'd have a great time playing games and doing graphics with your system. Remember to keep your operating system up to date. Always have an anti-virus and anti-spyware programs running. With proper care, your computer will last 3 years or even longer. It might also be a good idea to clean the inside of your PC with compressed air every 6 months. It's a small investment that will prolong the life of your computer.

Your next upgrade should be a larger screen followed by more ram and additional disk space.

A very nice setup indeed. And I would say stick with windows XP for now unless you want to wait until a bug free version of Vista is on the market. Also if you really want duo video cards, drop Crossfire and go with SLI. It is by far more powerful than Crossfire overall. But it's really up to you. Enjoy.

It's a decent set up until you really use your system. More memory and maybe a 20" LCD would be nice down the line for graphics and games.

Now get a good inkjet photo/printer, a 5.0 Mpixle camera, a fast wireless router/firewall combo, and good software to start your party!

Nice, very nice. Hope you'd be able to max the use of that, else you'd be weary of the investments you've made.

Analogy: You've got a fully-equipped "Humvee" ready to drive. But if you'd just be driving it around the golf course... you know what I mean.
