That depends on your current speed. 45K is about the max you're going to get in the real world with a 56K modem.

All normal dialup connections speed is 56 Kbps or below it.
The phone line that connects the internet cannot send data more than 6Kbytes/sec, however, it takes jerk 8kbytes/sec just in some cases.
If you want to establish a continuous speed. Use only single cable connected to your modem.
Any phone interference may cause dips.

If this provider has a command option, type in /cl_timenudge -50 and itshould help out, at least temporarily.

Depends on the modem, but I have had luck typing in the following where you can add extra initialization commands:
AT&F
It doesn't work on every modem, but with the right one, it did let me log on at 115k.
