it crashes whenever I click on a link and it tries to open up another page. The error report says that I need to update my yahoo software, but when I click on the link ... I crash!
UGH! anyone have any ideas?

You are probably loaded with spyware. I know af a great tool, check the link below. The tool I'm familiar with is under the part 2 section of the post titled "David H. Lipman 9/4/2006 7:24 AM PST"
I havent used the other one...

i dont think your computer crashes i think it's yahoo..it has some problems lately and i also experience it in yahoo but not on other site.

Unplug you network cable - reboot - run chkdsk after rebooting
