Honestly, after you die your body just begins to decompose. Your tissues stop receiving blood or nerve supply and they become necrotic. Eventually all that remains is bone. I find it pretty silly that people believe in religion and heaven and things of the like. I feel that people cling to these things more because of fear of death than anything else. Life is brain function and death is lack of brain function. There isn't much else to that story. The idea of spirits existing is very implausable.
I guess you could make the case that life does exist after death. In death you can be 'fertilizer' for future life. The carbon and nitrogen sources in your body could subsequently be used to grow plants which could subsequently be eaten by animals and eventually humans. So maybe it is possible that after you die you're supplying food for the future generations. Maybe you might wind up as a carbon atom on some kid's DNA
Sorry for the disappointment

Yes, when we die, our soul will leave the body and goes into a phase of transition either in purgatory, heaven or hell.
There is a silver cord attaching our body and soul which snaps at the point of death that's when the soul leaves the body. Once the cord snaps, nothing can be done to revive the body.
Upon death, we will see face to face with the Supreme Being, Jesus Christ and we will be judged according to our life on earth that determines our eternal bliss or pain.

no one knows, theres no scientific evidence to suggest a portal or barrier exists between life and... after life.
but there has been a lot of research done into NDE's (near death experiences) where while a person is clinicly dead and trying to be revived they claim they were in another place, some people say they see light, others say they have an outer body experience seeing themselves from above and unlike a dream they claim they were really there, they could see and feel.
the scientific evidence however suggests that this is the brains way of protecting itself from its own demise, creating a false reality because it is unable to comprehend its own death.
i personally would like to believe that we dont just cease to exist after death, but what would the purpose of an afterlife be?

i believe in life after death, i had sorta of had a close call, where i blacked out, i went to a place that was so peaceful and relaxing, that i didn't want to leave, the place was dark and i didn't see a light like some people do, but it was a great place. you have no fear what so ever, and are totally relaxed to the max. people calling my name, made me come back, but if not for that i would probably still be there, enjoying every minute of it.

Of course it does. Nothingness is a place after death. Heaven and hell are also considered a place after death.
