Ok listen, the reason alot of people hate the Yankees is not because the Money. It is the way the Yankees and the fans carry themselves. First, alot of the fans follows that Yankees when they're on the road and they have no respect in other people's home turf. Recall back in 95-96 season when the Orioles/Yankees was a big rivalries (Good Example), every time they come down to Baltimore, You will see nothing but fights everywhere. At one time, it was so bad that the Mayor of Baltimore (Mayor Kurt Smoke back then) made a announcement not to have so many charter buses from NY coming into Baltimore. So that is that
Now to A-Rod. I don't have a problem with his stats, Im still pissed because of his contract. 10yr/$252mil is too my and is overpaid. That right there will create another baseball strike.

Blah, blah, blah, more whining about the Yankees' payroll. As long as you are talking about payroll, why don't you mention that they also payed over $80 MILLION in revenue-sharing and luxury tax last year, genius? That is $80 million that goes to other teams, including YOUR CHOKING DETROIT TIGERS!! Why don't you also mention that the money also goes to teams like Kansas City, Florida, and Minnesota, whose owners put the
money in their pockets instead of their teams??
It's the Yankees' money, they should be allowed to spend it as they please. Should they just feel sorry for other teams and just give them more money? Steinbrenner wants to win and he can spend whatever he wants, moron. The Yankees sell the most merchandise, draw over 4 million people at home, and draw the most on the road, they are the biggest money-maker in baseball, so live with it!
Payroll doesn't guarantee a championship, and the Yankees haven't won since 2000, so why does everyone keep crying about their payroll?
You're just another panicking Tiger fan whose team lost 5 out of 7 this season to the Yankees, and who can't beat really good teams. You had the best record BY FAR as recently as a month ago, and the Tigers are falling fast. I hope the Yanks meet your fluke of a team in the playoffs! Your a$$es are toast!!
By the way, the Tigers have won, what, TWO World Series titles in the last 61 years? And that was BEFORE payroll became an issue.

You try to make it sound like it was so long ago. They won it in 2000. That was six years ago. That is a long time for a Yankee fan, but considering I waited from 1978 until 1996, I can handle this drought. Even Steinbrenner knows spending alot of money does not guarantee a World Series but it does guarantee the team will be competetive. He's getting what he paid for. Yanks have won 9 div. titles in a row. As for A-Rod, I'm not paying his contract and he's at least as good as Soriano. I don't know what you mean by funny, but I enjoy seeing my team in the playoffs EVERY year. Something that you'll never be able to enjoy.

Don't talk smack about A-Rod without backing it up. He's tops in the AL with game-winning or game-tying hits so leave him out of this. If anything blame Randy Johnson for it.
And I think the Yankees won't win the World Series this year, but that's because there are teams that are better than them.

I laugh at that team every year they fail to win a world series. Baseball is about talent. A team that buys the best players all the time is cheating and stuck up. I especially love when the D-Backs beat em in 2001. It's my hometown team. DOWN WITH THE YANKEES!!

I think it is funny they can't win with the biggest pay roll. Or I should say have not won since 2000. I hope they choke in the playoffs and don't make it to the series. Nobody deserves to lose more than George Steinbrenner.

It's actually kind of pathetic actually, but that's what happens when a team is run by such a lousy judge of talent. I think if the owner and management of the Minnesota Twins were running that team they would be a serious threat to the Boston Celtics record of 8 consecutive world championships.

Aw, I think you're pretty funny!
9 straight Division titles? That's not a losing team!
But yeah, it's pretty funny that they just can't seem to lose anything!
The 2006 WS hasn't been played yet,
so maybe we should all just let the games be played.
Then we'll see who earns bragging rights, shall we?
Good Luck to all postseason teams!
May the best Yankees win!!!!!!!!!!!
