It is normal. If you have not started by the time you are 18 then it is time to see the Dr. Signs that it is coming can be mood changes, bloating, cramping, maybe some back pain and breast tenderness. There is no way to predict when it will come, but I would try not to worry. It is normal, my best friend did not start until she was 17, my sister started when she was 10. There is such an age variance, I would seriously just enjoy being you and if you are really concerned, ask your parents to take you to the Dr. They will do an exam, but they can make you feel better and know that things are ok. Take care!

There aren't really any signs that you are about to start, which is why you hear all these stories about people who were shocked to discover that there was blood in their underwear. Is it normal not to have started at 16? Well, there has always been a big range of "normal", and you are probably older than many, but this doesn't mean there is something wrong. You might be on the smaller side or just slow to mature physically. At your next check-up, mention it to your doctor. They can do things to move you along if they think it is important.

chicalaloo and Mary D have answered your question correctly. Secondary sexual characteristics like body hair development and the development of breasts are a sign that you are about to start. These days girls are starting younger. It used to be the case that girls would not start until 13, 15 or so. Nowadays it seems the norm for some girls to even start developing with breasts, secondary sexual characteristics, and even periods at very early ages like ten or so.

It seems that girls start younger these days. When I was 15, I started. I had some mild stomach cramps and then I was also out of sync with a few other things.
Your starting also depends on how active you are. There was a news program about women's health about this. There was a 19 year old on and she had never had a period. The doctor said it was because she was very active. She was a jogger and a runner.
So every thing has to be considered.

its ok, some people just start late, there are many reasons for not starting. If you are too thin your brain tells your body not to lose blood because there is a health risk.
also some medications the side effect could be a change in cycle or no cycle. If you have hair down there and breast development then thats a sure sign your cycle will start soon, but if you are still worried then pop into your trusted GP and have a conversation with him/her. hope this helps

There is no special age for starting "period". Depending on your genes, as well as, your life style, it could effect your period.
It signs also varies from one person to another. Some experience ache, headache, cramp, fever, and some have none of those signs.
Hopefully, you are visiting your OBGYN, on annual bases for check-up. If you don’t, please do. Women health is very important, and all heath issues are better to be discovered at early stages.
At any rate, if you are very concern, discuss the issue with your doctor. He may order a test for your hormones to ensure that they are balance. Imbalance hormone can cause delay, similar to some life styles (e.g., sports, stress, etc.)
Good luck!

The sign that it might be about to start is a discharge that is different from whatever your vaginal discharge is normally like.
And yes, don't worry, it's normal that you haven't started. Some girls don't start their period until they're 17.
Relax. Try to enjoy not having the "monthly curse" yet. ;)
Take care. <3

WOW 16. I Was 11. IT's no big deal. You will notice your hormones changing. Moodiness. Sensative, crying a lot, hunger out of nowhere. You should talk to your doctor. 16 seems late, but I don't know that for sure.

If you're talking about periods, I don't think there are any signs. They just start one day without notice. But yes, it's unusual that they haven't started yet. You'd better see a gyneco.
