I know there are differences between charms and charisma, but I'd like to ask which one is better for you and why. Thanks for sharing.

Lots of folks wouldn't really make a distinction, but I think charisma is better.

Charm is a tool some people use to get what they want... an active deception, a phony smile.

Charisma is genuine, and it is passive. You just happen to be a likeable person, or a natural leader. People listen to you and like you, and you're not really trying to get them to.... nor do you seek to use your charisma for gain....then it would be charm!

For the first impression, it's usually charms. But in the long run, I think charisma wins the day. If you spend time with people, their charisma will attract or repel you, hence define the level of your involvement with them.

I prefer to be charming because this trait attracts people who are more or less "nice", and who doesn't want that, although charisma will attract all kinds, even the ones you don't want to attract. --Rat
