i read in the news online that whites will be the biggest minority but that can't be accurate right???

What they're saying here is that Whites will be a MINORITY.
Don't confuse race with minority.
Many people are answering which race they think will have the largest population.
Hispanics will probably be a high percentage of the population. If there are more hispanics than whites, whites will be a minority group.
Simple as that.

The biggest minority refers to studies in the U.S.A. in which Hispanics were referenced. Since some newspapers in U.S.A. uses the word, "the World" to refer to itself (U.S.A.) in the third person, that pretty is much on the spot.
You might want to try going through the links below on studies conducted by UNESCO and the WTO for a clearer picture on current projections. For the time being, given no formal worldwide studies, there are no conclusive numbers, or final projections. Close estimates presently are used to model economic supply/demand on GDP, etc.

World wide or nation wide?
In America the American Indian will still be the minority because we American's of European descent were damn effective at carrying out one of the greatest acts of genocide ever known to mankind.
Worldwide it may well be those of African descent because the most economically developed nations just don't give a **** about millions of sick and dieing "dark skinned" people.
I guess the term "we've come a long way baby" is just a term.
We've not come far at all.

No one can know for certain, but in the United States, Hispanics are projected to be the largest minority. This will be followed by the African Americans, and then Asians.
